BFIRST was founded by Barbara Jemec, who at the time was the Chairman of BAPRAS’ Overseas Service and Training Committee, which for several years represented the Association’s commitment to training and support in countries with little or poor access to plastic reconstructive surgery. We are still intimately associated with BAPRAS, but with our separate articles, so we are able to ring fence donations and other support, which secures sustainability.
