Chris Lewis

Chris Lewis is a Consultant Burns & Reconstructive Surgeon at the Royal Victoria Infirmary, Newcastle upon Tyne, and is responsible for the management of children and adults with major burn injuries. 
 
He qualified in 2006 from Imperial College, London. Chris was awarded a PhD in 2013. He completed his plastic surgery training in North East England, before completing a burn fellowship in Perth, Western Australia.
 
He serves as the Chair of the Burns Special Interest Advisory Group of BAPRAS and as Deputy Editor of the Journal of Plastic, Reconstructive & Aesthetic Surgery.
 
Chris has published over 40 original academic and scientific articles in peer-reviewed journals and written book chapters on burn care. He is the Training Programme Director for plastic surgery in the North East. He visits Tanzania annually to teach local surgeons in burn care and reconstruction.
