Mr Naveen Cavale
Nav Cavale trained in London and has been a consultant plastic surgeon since 2009. He has an NHS and Private Practice, both based in South London.
He has worn various other ‘hats’ over the years including the role of NHS clinical director at King’s College Hospital, President of the Royal Society of Medicine Plastic Surgery Section, Patron of the KCL Medical Students Plastic Surgery Society, and National Secretary of ISAPS.
Since 2014, he has been visiting Gaza, with a team of Limb Reconstruction surgeons, helping to look after complex blast and gunshot injuries. As well as direct patient care, the emphasis there has been on training local surgeons to increase capacity. A more recent project has been to establish formal plastic surgery training by way of the setup of a ‘Palestinian Board of Plastic Surgery', a work in progress as of 2021.
Via BFIRST, Nav is involved in a collaboration project with BSSH in Tanzania. The COVID pandemic has interrupted setup of this project, but trips are resuming in late 2022.
Nav is currently Vice Chair of BFIRST and is due to take over as Chair in January 2023.
