Submit your entry for the BFIRST Essay Prize 2026

The BFIRST Essay Prize is back for the 2026 edition. 

Junior doctors and medical students in the UK & Ireland will be eligible to submit essays once the essay topic is confirmed.

The first prize winner will have the chance to present their essay at the BFIRST Overseas Day (more information to follow). 

When submitting your essay, please make sure it meets the following criteria:

• Word count 1500 word max. (excluding references)
• Word or PDF document 
• Size 12 Calibri font
• Double spaced Calibri font 12
• The title must not be changed.
