By attending this webinar, the participants learnt to:

  1. Outline the anatomy and biomechanics of the wrist in relation to distal radius fractures.
  2. Assess and treat a wrist fracture in the acute setting, including neurovascular examination and appreciate the relevant Imaging.
  3. Analyse a wrist fracture and know how to select the appropriate treatment (non operative & operative) with the risk/benefits of each.
  4.  Evaluate and treat the associated soft tissue injury in wrist fractures.
  5. Define the sequence and the technical aspects for closed reduction and wiring, plating and external fixator application of wrist fractures.
  6. Implement a Rehabilitation /Hand Therapy programme for patients recovering from a distal radius fracture.
  7. Evaluate the late presenting fracture or complex wrist injury and be able to apply the best strategy to minimise complications and know the criteria for tertiary referral.
